Objective
of the Conference
The biennial NATCOSEB is the flagship conference of Indian Society for
Surface Science and Technology (ISSST). It aims to provide a platform to
scientists, technologists, and researchers for exchanging their ideas and
advancement through scientific discourses. Participants are expected to
communicate among themselves on their studies on micelle, microemulsion,
emulsion, gel, supramolecular assemblies, material sciences and various other
aspects of surface chemistry. As the cutting-edge research today has become
more of a group and collaborative work rather than individual effort, the ISSST
hopes that NATCOSEB will help the researchers to bond among themselves for the
betterment of their own research and also for the benefit of the society at
large. Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, under the aegis of ISSST is
organizing XXI NATCOSEB Second time.
Indian Society for Surface Science & Technology
The society was established in 1983 with the aim to cultivate and disseminate the knowledge of surface
science among researchers, students, teachers
and general public.
Surface science being a ubiquitous one, its importance cannot be overemphasized. The industry – academia collaboration is one of its stated goals
because of the importance of surface science in general public life. It
organizes international, national and local seminars throughout the year. It
has more than 600 members from India and abroad. The society publishes a peer
reviewed international research journal, Journal of Surface Science and
Technology as well as a Newsletter. For details of the activities of ISSST,

Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU)
The PRSU, established in 1964, is the largest and the oldest academic institution
of Chhattisgarh state. The PRSU has 300 acres sprawling campus and grown enormously
over the last 59 years in terms of number of students (approx. 2 lakh) as well
as disciplines, viz., arts, science, life science, humanities, law, education,
pharmacy, management, physical education, etc. in 29 Schools of Studies and around
152 affiliated colleges spread over different districts of Chhattisgarh and accredited
with “A” grade by NAAC. Recently the University received DST PURSE Grant.
School of Studies in
Chemistry
SOS in Chemistry is one of the oldest and most prominent departments in Pt.
Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, founded in 1972. Under the supervision of
dedicated teachers, it offers M. Sc. and Ph. D. programmes. The academic achievements
of the SOS are well reflected by over 800 research papers published at the world
level and over 300 Ph. D. produced covering a wide spectrum of the Chemical Science.
It is a DST-FIST & UGC-SAP sponsored department.
Raipur - The Capital
City
Raipur is the capital city of Chhattisgarh. It represents the
administrative, educational, business, and industrial hub of the State of
Chhattisgarh. Raipur is located about 300 K.M. from Nagpur in the East on the
Mumbai-Kolkata trunk line. It is well connected with major cities of India by
Air, Rail and Road.
